Make an appointment with Nikol! Your initial appointment with Nikol will provide ample time to talk about your health history, your interest in the above services, and the primary reasons for your visit. Nikol will ask questions and take time to understand your body before coming up with a suggested plan that includes the services she believes will be most beneficial for you. Most commonly, your subsequent visits with Nikol will include a combination of the services she offers.
A patient’s first visit consists of an in-depth consultation, East Asian diagnostic techniques, an individualized treatment plan, and a starter treatment. You’ll discuss your current health, past medical history, and future wellness goals and treatment options such as Eastern therapies, herbal prescriptions, or lifestyle depending on the your specific conditions.
Nikol will greet returning patients in the treatment room, ready to begin. A brief intake will allow her to make any necessary changes to the treatment plan, allowing recovery to evolve as the body shifts and responds. Nikol will also check on progress in adapting to healthy eating patterns and other lifestyle modifications and homecare recommendations. The treatment itself will fill the majority of the time.
Herbs are a cornerstone of East Asian Medicine, so Nikol will offer an herbal consultation to the majority of her patients. An initial consultation will focus on crafting a custom herbal formula for each patient that will address the specific health issues that person is facing. The herbal prescription may consist of patent herbs (in pill form), granular or powdered herbs, or loose leaf herbs. The initial consultation will also include detailed instructions on how to self-administer the herbal formula, which may include brewing tea or making herbal decoctions.
Patients returning to refill their herbal formula will participate in a brief discussion on the results of their previous round of herbs, and necessary adjustments will be made to the formula when the prescription is refilled.
Nikol humbly offers the Warrior Acupuncture Program, a free service of acupuncture to local military veterans. This service is offered twice a week and is delivered community style. The treatments are NADA protocol and consist of five needles in each ear. These treatments address issues such as PTSD, stress, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, and irritability.
