Nikol offers a wide variety of healing services that are often provided in tandem with acupuncture treatment. It’s not uncommon to top off an acupuncture session with a short treatment of cupping, for example, as these two treatments together can complement each other’s benefits of muscle relaxation and pain relief.
Whether offered independently or as part of a holistic health plan, Nikol commonly provides services in addition to acupuncture, which include:

Nikol will often incorporate traditional forms of Chinese massage such as Tui Na and Gua Sha. These forms of body massage incorporate pushing, stretching, and kneading of specific acupressure points around your body to help relax tightness and invigorate circulation.
Nikol uses several different Chinese liniments in her practice based on the type of condition presented. The liniments are highly aromatic and have varying levels of warming and cooling sensations. They are applied directly to an affected area and then wrapped in a hot compress, which feels AMAZING and helps with sore muscles, joints, or other body aches.
Moxibustion is the practice of burning a dried form of the herb Mugwort (Artemisia) over points or areas of the body in order to warm, invigorate, and increase circulation. The moxa can be placed directly and carefully on the skin, held over the skin, or put at the end of an acupuncture needle. The feeling is a deep, intensive heat within your body.
Cupping increases circulation and enhances the flow of oxygenated blood to target areas to speed the healing process. Small suction cups are placed singly or in groups, normally on the back. Though bruising is a slight risk, there is no pain that should occur. Along with increased circulation, the expected effects of cupping are lymph node draining, decreased inflammation, relaxation of tight muscles, and reduced pain.
Nikol will often assign a home care routine of therapeutic yoga postures and movement. These include stretches and poses to help your body re-align, gain flexibility, and increase its range of motion. Yoga can help treat and prevent physical and mental ailments. Various poses can help alter your circulation, muscle tone, and flexibility to maintain optimal body function.
